Public engagement is vital to the inclusion of diverse people in the discussion of issues that affect their lives. Today, many scientific decisions cannot effectively be made in isolation. Instead, they require our collective reasoning power to seek common ground on scientific issues requiring complex social trade-offs.
The Public Engagement Portal (PEP) of the Concordia Science Journalism Project (CSJP) is a new endeavour that hosts public engagement events on scientific, health and environmental topics. We invite you to browse upcoming events and add your diverse expertise to important discussions of issues that affect our lives.

The CSJP strives to document as many events as possible for future reference. These reports are freely accessible. We also publish on our research related to public engagement.
PEP site launches to provide a platform to register for events, to learn about the results of recent engagements and to work towards building public discussion of scientific issues.
On Nov 20th, 2010, 43 people joined several experts and the CSJP at Concordia University to discuss whether biofuels will feed or kick our energy consumption.
